Participation: 20%
  • Image presentation - 5% (graded F/V-/V/V+)
  • Discussion participation - 15% (graded F/V-/V/V+)
Short illustrated paper (~5 pages): 35%
  • Topic and outline - 10% (graded F/V-/V/V+)
  • Paper - 25%
Longer multi-media project (~12 pages): 45%
  • Topic and outline - 10% (graded F/V-/V/V+)
  • Paper - 35%
Online course evaluation, 1% [bonus]

Daily Reading Question
​
On every day of the class, you are responsible for bringing in three specific questions about the reading.   I will call on 2-3 people, randomly selected, each class, to share one question each that will guide our discussion. 
Image Presentation
On one day of the quarter, each student will find and share an image of general interest.  Ideal examples are: (i) found in real life (not on the internet); (ii) require some "interpretation" to understand; (iii) are interesting or relevant in light of the day's reading.

Please limit your remarks to 3-5 minutes, and practice first.
Late policy
Late = –5 points, and  – 5 points off every 24 hours thereafter.
​Extensions must be requested 2 weeks in advance except for health emergency.
